Coffee filter

Piece of paper

Print this Page

Steps:

1. Take one coffee filter and set it on top of a piece of paper.

2. Take 3 or more washable markers and color the coffee filter any way you please. (Make sure to leave some white of the coffee filter).

3. Use alternating colors to create a "rainbow" look.

4. Place the now colored coffee filter on a piece of construction paper or computer paper.

5. Dip your fingers or a paintbrush into a cup of water and gently sprinkle some water onto the filter.

6. Set the coffee filter outside to dry in the sun for about 10-15 minutes.

7. When dry, use a marker (not a pen as it may tear the filter) and trace a fish shape.

8. Cut the fish out of the filter and then glue to deep blue paper to create an ocean scene.

A: Fsh!

That is a Good Idea!

Some of the simplest things make the best toys! My toddler loves to toot his "horn" made from a paper towel tube. It encourages imagination, and is easily replaced. Won't he be surprised when I have a wrapping paper tube for him to play with this Christmas!
